A few days have gone by since we launched vinopedia.tv and you have already been able to see how you will further enjoy and learn about the wine world. However, we would like to expand on the contents of some of vinopedia’s sections that supplement the web portal’s heart – the videos. Therefore, here is a small “instructions manual”.
–Glossary of terms. When accessing each video’s page, at the bottom you will see a series of terms related to the topic covered in the chapter and that we consider need a further explanation. If you click on each one, you will find the definition and enter a page featuring all the terms accumulated up to that moment. It is a way of creating a small dictionary (without being too comprehensive) in which to look up the more technical words that we have been using in our portal. Of course, you may suggest words that you have heard during the chapter and wish to add to our glossary at any time.
–Wine step by step. Here you can find a basic scheme regarding the stages followed when making different types of wine. What you will encounter here are schemes that are missing only slight details, but which, at the same time, are extremely difficult to layout in a chart. These are details such as the oenologists’ passion, care and expertise. But, at least you will be able to draw a general picture of the stages that take place in a winery, whether it is regarding white, red or rosé wine.
–In the vineyard and in the winery. Here you will find what happens in the vineyard and in the winery each month of the year. It is another way of following the wine-making process. In this case, you may also click on each of the terms that appear and obtain a brief definition, as well as videos related to what is being spoken with regard to each stage of the process.
–What would you like to know about wine? In this section, you will be able to ask us anything about wine – from the most simple to the extremely technical. Whatever you would like to know. As easy as that. Send us your question via e-mail, facebook or twitter and we will answer it asap. From our standpoint it is one of the most important sections, so don’t be shy, we have all refrained from asking things to others because of fear or not knowing somebody by hand who could answer our query. This is the moment.
–We will publish a new chapter every fortnight, although in periods with intense activity, such as the harvesting period, the rate of publications of videos will be higher so you can follow everything that happens and live it all almost in real time. Nonetheless, in periods of less activity, the portal will still be active from chapter to chapter. We will provide videos with previews of these chapters and, in this blog, we will publish photos and write articles about interesting things related to the wine-making process, anecdotes of what is happening in the field or in the winery, or how the people who work there are living each moment of the process.
The most important thing is that you all take part in it, so we would like you to share the videos on facebook, comment what the blog posts mean to you, leave us questions, and tell us what you like and what you dislike through facebook, twitter or your favourite channel.
